Have you ever hunted a fallow deer?

I remember exactly when I hunted my first fallow deer. I was hunting a second-age class deer, making the experience even more intense. I had identified its rutting calls about two days earlier. Then, I took a bit of a gamble, picked a hunting stand at random, and tried my luck. After about an hour of waiting, a lone doe suddenly appeared on my left. Right behind her came another, then a third... until there were about ten of them on the meadow. They slowly crossed the field and, one by one, disappeared under the branches of towering oaks. "Damn," I muttered... the fallow deer was gone. But within ten minutes, the one I had been waiting for stepped onto the meadow. He moved calmly, deliberately, almost like a showpiece, crossing the gentle slope of the meadow. Occasionally, he paused. There couldn't have been a better position for a shot. A cool wind, overcast skies—I still remember all of it, and then, just the focus on my shot placement. The silence of the forest was pierced by the sound of my rifle. The fallow deer bolted uphill but stopped after about 15 meters, gathered its last strength to stand on its hind legs, and then collapsed backward. That year, it was my most memorable hunting experience.
